July 31, 2025
We are beyond blessed with some amazing young people who have been a huge help to us this summer! Their hard work and dedication have made a real impact on project within Grain Millers. Meet them here:
AMANDA NELSON
Sustainable Agriculture & Data Analysis Fellowship
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
Major: Environmental Science, Policy, and Management

Interning with the Sustainability Department at Grain Millers has been an incredibly rewarding and educational experience. I’ve deepened my understanding of cover crops and soil health, while also contributing to the calculation and evaluation of the company’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Additionally, I co-authored a sustainability newsletter to help communicate key initiatives. This internship has given me valuable insight into how sustainability is integrated into the agricultural food system.
ADAM RUEN
Summer Field Representative
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
Major: Agricultural & Food Business Management

Working at Grain Millers has been a great experience. I’ve had the opportunity to travel across much of the Midwest, connect with growers, and see firsthand how crops are progressing. By sharing what I’ve observed in the field. I’ve been able to provide valuable insight to the team and support decision-making throughout the company.
JONATHAN CRUZ ESTRADA
Engineering Design Intern in Eden Prairie, MN
Dunwoody College of Technology

As a recent graduate, joining Grain Millers gave me the opportunity to apply my skills in a real-world setting. Working with a solid and supportive team, I learned a lot of new things and gained valuable experience. This role has helped me develop a clearer understanding of the kind of work I enjoy and what I want to pursue in my career.
ADEN FELDKAMP
Milling Intern in St. Ansgar, Iowa
Kansas State University
Major: Milling Science

I have enjoyed getting to better understand the layout of the mill and the way everything works together. I’ve liked getting to know all types of people and the jobs they do. Getting to work on projects in my own has been beneficial because I am gaining first-hand knowledge.
NATHAN LANGEMEIER
Purdue University
Major: Agricultural Engineering

I started my engineering internship at Grain Millers mid-May at the Marion branch! So far, I have been working on cleaning up documentation and learning about the software/hardware involved in automation. I hope to get more involved in programing our automation systems. I have had a great time so far and can not wait to see what else I’ll do!
JACK BRUGGEMAN
Automation Intern at St. Ansgar, Iowa
Alexandria Community & Technical College
Major: Mechatronics

I enjoy a challenge, I have had a great experience learning new things at Grain Millers. My internship has opened my eyes to working with others, troubleshooting machines, and writing code. It’s been rewarding to share what I have learned from college and apply in a real world setting. I’m grateful for this opportunity and my future in automaton.
We are excited to see the amazing things you’ll achieve in your careers!
