Partnerships for Resilient Agriculture (PFRA)
At Grain Millers, we offer a comprehensive grower incentive program through our Partnerships for Resilient Agriculture (PFRA) initiative. This program is designed to meet customer requests for regenerative acres and improved Scope 3 emission factors. PFRA provides an opportunity for our customers to assist growers in their efforts to adopt and maintain regenerative agriculture practices.
THE PILLARS OF PFRA
Technical support is provided to our growers through on-site farm visits, on-call services, and our quarterly Resilient Agriculture Newsletter.
We encourage biodiversity engagement with pollinator habitat, buffer strips, and diverse crop and cover crop rotations in addition to prohibiting deforestation and land conversion since 2020.
The byproduct of a biodiverse and resilient agriculture system is carbon sequestration. PFRA growers will be implementing practices that mitigate emissions, including reducing tillage and nitrogen fertilizer application as a result of improved land mapping and leguminous cover crops.
GROWER PRACTICES
This program incentivizes a variety of soil health, biodiversity, and nutrient management practices. To be eligible for premiums, a grower must participate in all required practices while also avoiding prohibited practices. Further incentives are available for additional practices.
