 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2025 | 17
2025 marked the first official year of our redesigned grower incentive
program, Partnerships for Resilient Agriculture (PFRA). We had 17
growers enrolled for our 2025 growing season, up from 8 in 2024. These
growers engaged with a variety of soil health and biodiversity focused
practices including cover crops, buffer strips, integrated grazing,
reduced tillage, and variable rate fertilizer application.
We streamlined our program structure in 2025 to improve grower
satisfaction and the longevity of practice adoption based on feedback
from participating producers. PFRA has evolved from a pay-by-practice
model to a tier-based payment system that now includes both required
and optional practices, with additional financial incentives available.

RESILIENT AGRICULTURE
OUR GROWER INCENTIVE PROGRAM
Designed by our Climate Agriculture Team,
PFRA provides financial and technical
support to enrolled producers for soil
health and biodiversity forward practices.
PFRA is managed by our Crop Science and
Sustainability teams, and grower payments
are funded by interested customers. PFRA
aims to facilitate meaningful partnerships
between our customers, growers, and local
soil health organizations, ultimately creating
a web of regenerative agriculture support
and action that creates lasting impact.
MORE THAN A CARBON PROGRAM
PFRA was designed to be an environmental and soil health impact program rather than a carbon
abatement program. The agronomic and cultural practices incentivized by PFRA naturally support carbon
sequestration on farms. It is important to Grain Millers that practice impacts extend beyond carbon alone
to create tangible benefits that our producers can see and feel on their farms.
BUILDING PRODUCER RESILIENCE
To be resilient is to be able to withstand growing climate pressures, cost fluctuations, crop failures, along
with many other difficulties as farmers. Without resilience, we lack longevity and our impact is limited.
Through PFRA we aim to build a truly resilient framework for agriculture and the formation of cross
sector partnerships.
The 2025 PFRA cohort gathers for an end of season appreciation lunch and cover crop presentation with Imperial Seeds.
