SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2025 | 11 10 | SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2025 SCOPE 3: GREENHOUSE GAS FOOTPRINT Scope 3 emissions are emissions that occur outside of our direct operations, including emissions from production, transportation, packaging, distribution, etc., or any indirect emissions that sit upstream or downstream within the value chain. Scope 3 emissions are comprised of 15 categories – 11 of which apply to Grain Millers and are reported in the graphic below. Most of our emissions fall into category 1, purchased goods and services, representing 55% of our total Scope 3 emissions. Purchased goods and services include emissions from the production of products purchased, which in our case is largely grain cultivation. Other high emitting categories included category 12 (17%) which looks at end-of-life emissions or the disposal of products, category 10 (15%) which considers the processing of products after they leave our facilities, and category 4 (10%) which covers transportation of goods to or from our facilities in trucks that are not owned by Grain Millers. The remaining categories only reflect 3% of our total Scope 3 emissions. We currently have initiatives focused on reducing our category 1 emissions, which include our grower incentive program, PFRA, integrating sustainability monitoring during farm visits, and supporting regenerative agriculture research and events. You can read more about these initiatives in the Commitment 2 section of this report. *The other categories row is comprised of Capital Goods, Upstream Fuel and Energy Activities, Waste Generated in Operations, Business Travel, Employee Commuting, Upstream Leased Assets, and Downstream Transportation and Distribution. If you are interested in adding us to your CDP disclosure list, please reach out to GMISustainability@grainmillers.com. SUPPLIER LEADERSHIP ON CLIMATE TRANSITION Grain Millers participates in an online learning collaborative, Supplier Leadership on Climate Transition (Supplier LOCT), that provides guidance on how to measure and report on GHG emissions. This program is a partnership of worldwide brands and suppliers that are committed to carbon emissions reductions. Through our participation in the global Supplier LOCT collaborative, we have calculated our Scope 1, 2, & 3 greenhouse footprints and have achieved the GHG Scope 1 & 2 Footprint badge and the GHG Scope 3 Footprint badge. These badges signify our shared ambition to reduce GHG emissions and be in alignment with industry standards.
