Our mill-level Green Teams are critical for the implementation of energy efficiency, waste 
management, biodiversity, and water quality initiatives at our sites. In 2024 we launched our 
St. Ansgar Green Team, and in 2025 we added two more with our Yorkton and Eugene Green Teams. 
These teams meet frequently to develop short-, medium-, and long-term goals that reflect mill level 
needs. Each team is composed of local employees who represent different functions of the operation. 
The St. Ansgar Green Team has been collaborating since 2024 and has made great 
improvements in energy management, including improved tracking, documentation, and metering of 
their operations. In 2025, the work of the St. Ansgar Green Team broadened to include management 
of all utilities, waste, and on-site biodiversity.
The Yorkton Green Team was established in May 2025 and is led by Environmental Manager, 
Grant McCallum and Engineering Designer, David Lammers. Sustainability was a core priority of 
the Yorkton Mill long before the formal creation of the Green Team. Recent advancements include 
digitalization of paper forms, environmentally-friendly swaps for cleaning products, compost diversion 
to animal feed, using thermal rather than chemical remediation for insect control, reject water 
reductions and efficiency improvements, door inspections for heat loss prevention, and utilization 
of organic ice melter products for roads and parking lots.
