Regenerative Organic

At Grain Millers, we believe that the original regenerative stewards were organic producers. When you choose organic grain, you can be confident it is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Organic farmers rely on time-tested regenerating practices such as integrated grazing and manure use, cover cropping, and diverse crop rotations to build soil fertility and reduce disease pressure naturally. Supporting organic food also means supporting on-farm environmental stewardship. For those seeking ingredients with verified regenerative practices, we also offer Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC) oats and have the capacity to process ROC flax as well.

“Organic farmers historically have always been those initial stewards of driving the soil health conversation, especially when it comes to reducing input levels that we are putting into our soil and reducing pesticide usage – these are all things that organic producers have already adopted.”

Olivia Schick, Crop Science Manager – Canadian Operations

WHAT IS ROC?

Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC) is a rigorous certification for farms that meet the highest standards for soil health, animal welfare, and farmworker fairness. ROC farms are USDA Certified Organic and boast regenerative practices that increase soil organic matter, sequester carbon, and help to mitigate climate change. ROC is overseen by the Regenerative Organic Alliance and requires that both the farm and facility are to be certified. Grain Millers is a licensed distributor of ROC products.
